1 - Introduction
Thank you for choosing Risks Explained Limited (REL) as your online training provider.
These Terms and Conditions are in addition to any website disclaimer (on https://www.risksexplained.com/) and apply to the sale of all REL online courses. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before purchasing a REL online course and print off a copy for your records.
This agreement applies between you, the user of the REL website & online course content, and Risks Explained Limited (REL), the operator of the website. Your agreement to comply with and to be bound Terms and Conditions is deemed to occur upon your first use of the website and the online course content. If you do not agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, you should stop using the REL website and online course content immediately.
By clicking the “Accept” function on the REL website, and the associated PayPal website, you agree to the Terms and Conditions which will bind you. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions you must cease to continue to purchase any online course services from REL.
No part of the REL website and online course content is intended to constitute a contractual offer capable of acceptance. Your order constitutes a contractual offer and REL’s acceptance of that offer is deemed to occur upon REL sending a confirmation email to you indicating that your order has been accepted.
Risks Explained Limited operates under the name of both Risks Explained Limited (company # 13449272) and Comprehensive Risk Solutions International Limited (company # 8657929) under the discretion of the owners and managers of the aforementioned firms. Both firms are incorporated in England and Wales at Companies House. Both companies have the following registered address: Suite 631, 94-99 High Holborn, London, WC1V 6LF, UK.
2 - Age Restrictions
Persons under the age of eighteen (18) should use the REL website and online course content only with the supervision of an adult. Payment information (to PayPal) must be provided by or with the permission of an adult.
3 – Customer - Individuals and Business
These Terms and Conditions apply to both individuals and business customers procuring online course services in the course of business.
4 - Eligibility for Online Courses
When agreeing to these Terms and Conditions you are confirming that you are proficient in English and that you are able to read and write fluently in the English language that the course is to be delivered in.
You must have a good grasp of the English language and it is your sole responsibility to ensure that you or members of your group (in the case of a purchase for a group) can cope with the language requirements.
5 - How to book an online course with Risks Explained Limited (REL)
Course bookings can be made only online at Risk Explained Limited (REL)’s website as follows: https://www.risksexplained.com
In order to purchase any of REL’s online course services, you must register for an account with REL via our website. If you already have an account with REL you can log into your account using your username and password.
6 - Contract of services between you and Risks Explained Limited (REL)
Accepting our Terms and Conditions and completing your online booking forms the contract of services between you and Risks Explained Limited. You will receive an email to confirm your booking as well as a receipt.
7 - Services, Pricing, and Availability
Whilst every effort has been made to ensure that all general descriptions of online course services available from Risks Explained Limited correspond to the actual services that will be provided to you, REL is not responsible for any variations from these descriptions as the exact nature of the online course services may vary depending on various circumstances. This does not exclude our liability for mistakes due to negligence on our part and refers only to variations of the correct online course content services.
Where appropriate, you may be required to select the required online course services.
We neither represent nor warrant that such online course services will be available at all times and cannot necessarily confirm availability until confirming your order. Availability details are provided on the website.
All pricing information on the website is correct at the time of being posted online. REL reserves the right to change prices and alter or remove any special offers from time to time and as necessary.
In the event that prices are changed during the period between an order being placed for online course services and REL processing that order and taking payment, then the price that was valid at the time of the order shall be used.
8 - Orders and Provision of Services
No part of the REL website and online content constitutes a contractual offer capable of acceptance. Your order constitutes a contractual offer that REL may, at REL’s sole discretion, accept. Our acceptance is indicated by REL sending to you an order confirmation email. Only once REL has sent you an order confirmation email will there be a binding contract between REL and you.
An order confirmation will be sent to you before the online course services begin and shall contain the following information:
- Confirmation of the online course services ordered including l details of the main characteristics of those services;
- Itemized pricing for the online course services ordered;
- REL will make the online course available to the purchaser for a period of three (3) months from the date of purchase ;
- User credentials and relevant information for accessing those services.
If REL, for any reason, does not accept your order, no payment shall be taken under normal circumstances. In any event, any sums paid by you in relation to that order will be refunded within one (1) month.
Payment for the online course services shall be taken at the REL website using PayPal.
In the case of negotiated volume rebates, these sums will be paid out by REL to the designated user by way of bank transfer after the user has provided banking details including beneficiary name & address, name & address of beneficiary’s bank that payment is to be made to, beneficiary bank identifier code (BIC) / routing (SWIFT) code / IBAN code, sort code (i.e., branch transit number or operating unit number), account number and beneficiary’s contact details.
REL will aim to fulfill your online course order immediately or if not, within a reasonable period following your order unless there are exceptional circumstances. If we cannot fulfill your order within a reasonable period, we will inform you at the time you place the order by a note on the REL web page or by contacting you directly by way of email after you place your order.
REL shall use all our reasonable endeavors to provide the online course services with reasonable skill and care, commensurate with best trade practices.
REL does not and is not responsible for booking any examinations with any professional body or examination board.
In the event that online training services are provided that are not in conformity with your order and thus incorrect, you should contact REL immediately to inform us of the mistake. We will ensure that any necessary corrections are made as soon as practicable. Please email [email protected]
Additional terms and conditions may apply to the provision of certain online course services. Appropriate details will be provided. You will be asked to read and confirm your acceptance of any such terms and conditions when completing your online course order.
REL provides technical support via email and postings on its website. REL makes every effort possible to respond to support requests as soon as possible but we do not guarantee a particular response time. Please email [email protected]
9 - Fees and Payments
Payment must be received in advance of the course by way of a PayPal transaction. Your registration is not confirmed until payment is received.
REL charges 20% United Kingdom Value Added Tax (VAT) on all of our online courses and all bank charges must be covered by the payer in addition to the total sum of the costs specified by REL.
As noted above, all prices on the REL website include VAT. In accordance with HM (Her Majesty's) Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and supplements thereof, REL is liable for VAT and uses VAT Registration Number: 176 7801 74 under the corporate name of Comprehensive Risk Solutions International Limited (incorporated under the laws of England and Wales). Risks Explained Limited is applying for a UK VAT registration number and will be introduced in due course.
Course fees are subject to change at the discretion of Risks Explained Limited.
Any fees charged by your debit or credit card provider or financial institution in connection with your purchase of the REL online services are for your own account and REL shall not be responsible for these.
10 - Access to the online course
Payment must be received prior to you being able to take any online REL course. You will not be allowed to access the course unless full payment has been received by the REL.
11 - Communications
All notices/communications shall be given by REL by way of announcements on the website or by email. Telephone communications with users are available once a request is made and details are provided to REL by way of an email.
12 – Your Account
In order to procure services on this website and online content and to use certain other parts of the system, you are required to create an account that will contain certain personal details and payment information. By continuing to use this website and online content you represent and warrant that:
- All information you submit is accurate and truthful.
- You have permission to submit payment information where permission may be required; and
- You will keep this information accurate and up to date. Your creation of an Account is further affirmation of your representation and warranty.
It is recommended that you do not share your account details, particularly your username and password. We accept no liability for any losses or damages incurred as a result of your Account details being shared by you. If you use a shared computer, it is recommended that you do not save your Account details in your internet browser.
If you have reason to believe that your Account details have been obtained by another person without consent, you should contact REL immediately to suspend your Account and cancel any unauthorized orders or payments that may be pending. Please be aware that orders or payments can only be canceled up until the provision of services of online courses has commenced. In the event that an unauthorized provision commences prior to your notifying REL of the unauthorized nature of the order or payment then you shall be charged as appropriate.
All business with REL relating to the provision of online training services is transacted according to the details set out in this Terms and Conditions document. These terms and conditions prevail over any inconsistent terms and conditions contained in, or referred to, in the user’s purchase order, confirmation of the order, acceptance, correspondence, account, or otherwise.
You may access your account at any time to view the data. You may need to modify or update your Data if your circumstances change. If so, please email [email protected]
When choosing your user name you are required to adhere to the terms described in the section ‘Use of Communications Facilities. Any failure to do so could result in the suspension and/or deletion of your account.
13 - Intellectual Property
All content included on the REL website and online course content, unless uploaded by Users, including, but not limited to, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, sound clips, video clips, data compilations, page layout, underlying code, and software is the property of REL, our affiliates or other relevant third parties. By continuing to use the REL website and online course content you acknowledge that such material is protected by applicable international intellectual property and other laws.
You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, store, or in any other fashion re-use material from the website and online course content unless otherwise indicated on the website, online course content, or unless given REL’s express written permission to do so.
More specifically, you are not authorized to:
- copy, modify, reproduce, re-publish, sub-license, sell, upload, broadcast, post, transmit or distribute any of the REL online course materials and website without prior written permission;
- record on video or audiotape, relay by videophone or other means the REL online course;
- use the REL course materials and website in the provision of any other course or training whether given by us or any third party trainer;
- remove any copyright or other notice of Risk Explained Limited on the course materials and website;
- modify, adapt, merge, translate, disassemble, decompile or reverse engineer any software forming part of the REL online courses and website.
Breach by you of the above shall allow REL to immediately terminate these Terms and Conditions with you and cease to provide you with any services, including but not limited to access to the online courses and websites.
14 - Course Cancellations, Transfers, and Refunds
Risks Explained Limited wants you to be completely satisfied with the online course services you have ordered. Telephone communications with users are available once a request is made and details are provided to REL by way of an email.
Where Risks Explained Limited has accepted/confirmed the online training services being purchased by you, REL has formed a legally binding agreement with you.
If you have purchased the REL online courses and have already accessed, downloaded all or part of the online courses and/or started to use that online courses then you shall have no right to cancel your order.
If you have purchased the REL online courses and have already accessed, downloaded all or part of the online courses and/or started to use that online courses then you shall have no right to transfer (to another person) your order.
Risks Explained Limited reserves the right to cancel or decline your order or any part of your order at any time until it has been confirmed by REL.
If at any point and for any reason REL cancels or postpones an online course, you will have the option to transfer to another REL course or, if you paid for the canceled/postponed course, receive a full refund of the fees received by REL (for the avoidance of doubt such refund shall be the same amount and currency as received by REL). This is REL’s entire liability towards you for any canceled or postponed courses. REL is not responsible to pay any other costs incurred by you in respect of the canceled/postponed course. Subject to the above, there will be no charges for your transfer or cancellation.
REL may terminate your account. If REL terminates your account, you will be notified by email and an explanation for the termination will be provided. Notwithstanding the foregoing, REL reserves the right to terminate without giving reasons.
If REL terminates your Account, any current or pending orders or payments on your account will be canceled and the provision of online course services will not commence.
Notwithstanding the above, there is no other right to cancel or vary your purchase of online course services, and any other cancellation and/or variation of any course will be at the entire discretion of Risks Explained Limited.

15 - Personal Data
Data security is of great importance to REL and to protect your personal data we have put in place suitable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure data collected online.
All personal information that REL may collect (including, but not limited to, your name and e-mail address) will be assembled, used, and held in accordance with the provisions of the UK’s Data Protection Laws and your rights under these laws.
We may use your personal information to:
- Provide our services to you;
- Support PayPal in your payment for the services; and
- Inform you of new products and services available from REL. You may request that we stop sending you this information at any time.
- Except if required by PayPal, we will not pass on your personal information to any other third parties without first obtaining your express permission.
REL is entitled to transfer and process all shared personal data for the permitted purpose in accordance with all Data Protection Laws, including that data subjects have given consents, including where necessary consents and that the transfer to (and processing in) all countries outside the United Kingdom by each party in accordance with the permitted purpose comply with Data Protection Laws, including General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
REL reserves the right to change its privacy policy as REL deems necessary from time to time or as may be required by law. Additional data as to your marketing preferences may also be stored and you may change this if requested.
You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data on payment of a small fee (GBP 20).
16 - Assignment
Any online training services provided by us under these terms and conditions are personal to you and cannot be transferred or assigned to any other person.
We shall be entitled to assign these terms and conditions to any other company without prior notice to you.
We may assign, transfer or sub-contract any of our rights or obligations to any third party at our discretion.
17 - Non-attendance at a course
We will not issue refunds for delegates who fail to attend/utilize the online training courses for whatever reason.
18 - Cancellation of a course by Risks Explained Limited (REL)
REL reserves the right to alter published online courses and website programs without prior notice and without liability. REL also reserves the right to cancel any online courses at any time without liability to delegates.
19 - Availability of the REL Website
The REL website is provided “as is” and on an “as available” basis. REL uses industry best practices to provide a high uptime, including a fault-tolerant architecture hosted in cloud servers. We give no warranty that the website and online course will be free of defects and/or faults and we do not provide any kind of refund for outages. We provide no warranties (express or implied) of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of the information, compatibility, and satisfactory quality.
REL accepts no liability for any disruption or non-availability of the website resulting from external causes including, but not limited to, ISP (Internet service provider) equipment failure, malicious attacks, terrorism, host equipment failure, communications network failure, power failure, natural events, acts of war or legal restrictions and censorship.

This website and course content may contain links to other sites. Unless expressly stated, these sites are not under the control of Risks Explained Limited or that of our affiliates. We assume no responsibility for the content of such websites and disclaim liability for any and all forms of loss or damage arising out of their use. The inclusion of a link to another site on this website and online content does not imply any endorsement of the sites themselves or of those in control of them.

22 - Use of Communications Facilities
When using any system on the REL website and online course content you should do so in accordance with the following rules. Failure to comply with these rules may result in your account being suspended or closed:
- You must not use obscene or vulgar language;
- You must not submit content that is unlawful or otherwise objectionable. This includes, but is not limited to, content that is abusive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, ageist, sexist, or racist.
- You must not submit content that is intended to promote or incite violence;
- It is advised that submissions are made using the English language as REL may be unable to respond to inquiries submitted in any other languages;
- The means by which you identify yourself must not violate these Terms and Conditions or any applicable laws;
- You must not impersonate other people, particularly employees and representatives of REL or our affiliates; and
- You must not use the REL system for unauthorized mass communication such as "spam" or "junk mail".
You acknowledge that REL reserves the right to monitor any and all communications made to us or using our system and online content.
You acknowledge that REL may retain copies of any and all communications made to REL or using our system or online content.
You acknowledge that any information you send to REL through REL’s system or online content may be modified by REL in any way and you hereby waive your moral right to be identified as the author of such information. Any restrictions you may wish to place upon REL’s use of such information must be communicated to REL in advance and REL reserves the right to reject such terms and associated information.
23 - Cookies
"Cookies" are used by REL on its website. These are text files placed on your computer by REL when you visit certain parts of the website. This allows REL to identify recurring visitors and to analyze their browsing habits within the website.
You may restrict your internet browser’s use of cookies at your own discretion.
24 - Changes of Business Ownership and Control
REL may, from time to time, expand or reduce its business and this may involve the sale of certain divisions or the transfer of control of certain divisions to other parties. Data provided by Users will, where it is relevant to any division so transferred, be transferred along with that division, and the new owner or newly controlling party will, under these Terms and Conditions, be permitted to use the Data for the purposes for which it was supplied by you.
In the event that any data submitted by users will be transferred in such a manner, you will be contacted in advance and informed of the changes. When contacted you will be given the choice to have your data deleted or withheld from the new owner or controller.
25 - Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, REL accepts no liability for any direct or indirect loss or damage, foreseeable or otherwise, including any indirect, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from the use of the REL website and online course or any information contained therein. You should be aware that you use the website and its online course content at your own risk.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or restricts REL’s liability for death or personal injury resulting from any negligence or fraud on the part of REL.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or restricts REL’s liability for any direct or indirect loss or damage arising out of the incorrect provision of services or out of reliance on incorrect information included on the Website and in the online course content.
Although REL aims to provide its online courses services to the highest standards of the industry, neither it, nor its trainers accept any liability for: (i) any inaccuracy or misleading information provided in the programs or course materials and any reliance by the user on any such information, (ii) any loss or corruption of data, (iii) any loss of profit, revenue or goodwill, or (iv) any indirect, special or consequential loss arising from any breach of the terms of this Agreement. Except to the extent that they are expressly set out in these Terms and Conditions, no conditions, warranties or other terms shall apply to the services of the online course. Subject to below, no implied conditions, warranties, or other terms apply (including any implied terms as to the satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose, or conformance with description). Subject to below, REL’s total liability arising from or in connection with these Terms and Conditions and in relation to anything which REL may have done or not done in connection with these Terms and Conditions and the delivery of the services of the online course (and whether the liability arises because of breach of contract, negligence or for any other reason) shall be limited to the fees received by us in connection with the relevant online course in relation to which a dispute has arisen. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit REL’s liability for (i) death or personal injury caused by negligence, (ii) fraudulent misrepresentation, or (iii) any other matter which under English law may not be limited or excluded. No claim may be brought more than six months after the last date on which the Services concerned have finished or ceased to be provided by us.
No part of the provision of the services of the online course shall be deemed to be, nor is it intended to be, nor should it be taken to be, the provision of investment advice.
In the event that any of these terms are found to be unlawful, invalid, or otherwise unenforceable, that term is to be deemed severed from these Terms and Conditions and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining Terms and Conditions. This term shall apply only within jurisdictions where a particular term is illegal.
26 - Force Majeure
REL reserves the right to cancel, suspend or vary the operation of our obligations to you if events occur which are in the nature of force majeure including (but without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing) fire, flood, storms, earthquakes, volcanoes, and other Acts of God, terrorism, strikes, lockouts, riot, hostilities, non-availability of material or suppliers or any event outside of REL’s control including government edict or regulation; and we shall not be held liable for any breach of contract or tort resulting from such an event.
27 - Warranties and liabilities
Risks Explained Limited will perform any services with reasonable skill and care. Except as otherwise provided in these Terms and Conditions, and except where goods or services are sold to a person dealing as a consumer, all warranties, representations, and undertakings, whether express or implied, statutory or otherwise, including but not limited to warranties of satisfactory quality, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and of non-infringement of the rights of a third party, are hereby excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law. Where goods or services are sold to a person dealing as a consumer, nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall affect his or her statutory rights.
For all courses the total liability of REL under these Terms and Conditions whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise shall be limited to an amount equal to 100% of the sum of all fees paid by you to us due under these Terms and Conditions or, if higher, the amount available under any responding insurance policy.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall constitute or be deemed to constitute a partnership, agency, or joint venture between the parties hereto or constitute or be deemed to constitute either party the agent of the other for any purpose whatsoever and neither party shall have any authority or power to bind the other or to contract in the name of or create a liability against the other.
Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary in these Terms and Conditions, nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit REL’s liability for any injury caused by REL’s negligence or for fraudulent misrepresentation or for any liability that may not be limited or excluded by law.
28 - Disclaimer
REL makes no warranty or representation that the online courses and website will meet your requirements, that it will be of satisfactory quality, that it will be fit for a particular purpose, that it will not infringe the rights of third parties, that it will be compatible with all systems, that it will be secure and that all information provided will be accurate. We make no guarantee of any specific results from the use of our service or services.
No part of the REL online courses and website is intended to constitute advice and the content of the online courses and website should not be relied upon when making any decisions or taking any action of any kind.
No part of REL online courses and website is intended to constitute a contractual offer capable of acceptance.
Whilst REL uses reasonable endeavors to ensure that the online course and website are secure and free of errors, viruses, and other malware, you are strongly advised to take responsibility for your own internet security, that of your personal details, and your computers.
29 - Changes to Terms and Conditions
REL reserve the right to change the website, its online course content, or these Terms and Conditions at any time. You will be bound by any changes to the Terms and Conditions from the first time you use the website and online course following the changes. If REL is required to make any changes to these Terms and Conditions by law, these changes will apply automatically to any orders currently pending in addition to any orders placed by you in the future.
Regarding previous Terms and Conditions, in the event of any conflict between these Terms and Conditions and any prior versions thereof, the provisions of these Terms and Conditions shall prevail unless it is expressly stated otherwise.
These Terms and Conditions are severable in that if any provision is determined to be illegal or unenforceable by any court of competent jurisdiction such provision shall be deemed to have been deleted without affecting the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions.
30 - Duplicate Certificates of Completion
Requests for duplicate Certificates of Completion of online courses must be made in writing, stating the relevant course title, date, and delegate name. An administration charge of GBP 50 will be levied for this service. This sum must be paid in advance of the duplicate certificate being issued.
31 - Law and Jurisdiction
The interpretations, construction, effect, and enforceability of these Terms and Conditions and your use of the website shall be governed by English law, and both parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts for the determination of all disputes arising between them.
